Making Social Networking Work for You

I have been exploring what Business Social Networking is. And how can we get it to work for us? I conclude Facebook and Twitter are sites on which to connect with friends and colleagues and to network with new people - its like going to a party. Log on and you are at the party. At parties we talk about our family, our friends and what our listeners would like to hear about.
When I return from holiday I talk about the beauty of the accommodation, the great service, the lovely weather, the wonderful things I did and what I saw. Then they mention it to others - their friends and colleagues - you know you should visit Irish Cottages, etc. etc.! So we shouldn't dominate the conversation but mention the highlights and then listen to the feedback.
